NOCTURNAL ASTRO

I currently live in Tasmania, Australia

Back in Romania with my first refractor telescope

Nocturnal because same as nocturnal animals, astrophotographers come out and do their things at night when others sleep.

This hobby requires countless sleepless nights to be able to produce one image.

From a technical point of view you need to reconcile a lot of mechanical systems, electronics and software programs. This requires a lot of work and patience and sometimes they work and sometimes not.

But this is an incremental process of trial and error and in the end, when finally everything works perfectly, you get that final picture and you are stunned, you skip a beat and stare at that picture for minutes.

Its that immense feeling of contentment which overwhelms you, the exhilarating sensation of having to do all that work for this graceful piece of the universe is the ultimate motivator.

Like all good things there is a need to share this with others so they can too enjoy the beautiful nature of the universe.

There are countless pictures already available, some better but the skies are big and there is a lot to see and explore. There is this intriguing beauty of the celestial bodies that somehow resonate with our artistic sense of beauty. This is why I enjoy astrophotography and this is what pushes me to continue doing this.
